Monfero
An inland municipality in the Eume comarca. Known for Mosteiro de Monfero.
A mountain and inland town, with part of the Fragas do Eume and the jewel of the Santa María de Monfero monastery, with its striking checkerboard façade. In Xestoso the Feira do Grelo is held in winter. The monastery, founded in 1135 and Cistercian from 1201, is one of the great houses of the Galician Cistercian order.
