Fernando Esquío

Felipe Bello Piñeiro
A landscape painter born in O Seixo (Mugardos), regarded as the founder of the Ferrol School of Painting. His are the modernist murals of the Casino Ferrolano's «Pecera». He was a member of the Royal Galician Academy.
Xohana Torres
A poet, novelist and playwright, one of the great women's voices in Galician literature. Born in Santiago in 1931, she grew up in Ferrol, where she was a pupil of Carvalho Calero. Her strongly personal, sea-marked work places her among the major names of contemporary Galician poetry.
Xosé María Pérez Parallé
A poet and teacher, 'the blue poet of Ferrol'. Born in Ferrol in 1909, he lived much of his life in Barallobre (Fene) and worked at the Astano shipyard. A leading voice of post-war Galician poetry in the comarca, he gives his name to the Fene library and to a poetry prize.
