Register (empadroamento)
The first step: register on your council's padrón. You'll need it for the health card, school and many procedures. Each council has its website and booking.
Health card and doctor
With the padrón, request your Sergas card at your health centre. The reference hospital is the Arquitecto Marcide (Ferrol).
School and studies
School admission is handled by the Xunta; check the calendar and centres. Ferrol also has a university campus (UDC) and an official language school (EOI).
Getting around and daily life
Intercity buses on bus.gal, trains on Renfe, and Ferrol's urban bus. For waste, water and electricity, your council and the utilities. For work, SEPE and municipal job pools.
