🎪 Festas and traditions

Festival Internacional do Mundo Celta · 📍 Ortigueira

One of the world's great Celtic music festivals, free and by the sea (mid-July).

Festas do Carme

On 16 July the seafaring towns (Mugardos, Ares, Cedeira, Cariño…) honour the Virxe do Carme with maritime processions.

Festa do Polbo · 📍 Mugardos

A Tourist-Interest festival devoted to Mugardos-style octopus, every July.

🍽 In season

Grilled sardines and xoubas, Padrón peppers, garden tomatoes and mussels from the rías.

💡 Remember

At the beach, a green flag means safe bathing, yellow caution and red no bathing. And don't light fires: it's high wildfire-risk season.
